Jesus and His Mission

The most important thing at Northside Church is Jesus Christ.

Jesus is God’s Son who gave His life so that we could truly live. We were dead to God, Jesus made us alive and now God gets all the glory. We were at war against God and others, Jesus made peace in every way and now we belong as members of God’s family, saints in His Kingdom and citizens in Heaven.

Jesus has called us to be His disciples (lifelong learners and followers) who live our lives in such a way that invites others to become His disciples. Disciples are people Jesus has saved by His grace through faith who are:

Growing in Christ: Experiencing and reflecting to others the love God has for us more and more every day.

And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.  2 Corinthians 3:18

Grafted into Community: We understand that we need each other, we can’t do life alone. We strive to know and be known while making a difference in each other’s lives.

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to breaking of bread and the prayers. Acts 2:42

Going on Mission: There are quite literally millions of people in our are who haven’t put their faith in Jesus Christ for the salvation of their souls. We are Jesus’ method for drawing people to the Good News that He died and resurrected to change our final destination to heaven.

For the Son of Man [Jesus] came to seek and to save the lost. Luke 19:10
