What parents/guardians and children can expect on a Sunday:

  • Come on upstairs to our Children’s Ministry Area.
  • On your first visit, we’ll get you and your childrens(s) information into our check in system. This will allow you to clearly communicate any needs your child may have.
  • Be sure to enter your mobile number correctly into our system. If your child(ren) need you, we’ll text you.
  • You will be given a security barcode sticker, and your child(ren) will be given a corresponding nametag . This way, you, your child(ren) and their belongings will all have corresponding numbers. And, we’ll get the right kids, sippy cups and parents/guardians all correctly reunited when when it’s time to go home.
  • Be assured that everyone working with kids at Northside has completed an extensive application, has had reference and background checks, and training. And, they love kids.

Parent Resources:

Here are a few resources we’ve discovered that may help us as parents. Each is true to the Bible, and points to Jesus. (No, we don’t get perks for promoting these, we just like ’em!)

Webinar: part 1, part 2, part 3 on parenting by Tong Pineda, Northside’s Worship director, husband and father of two sons. Tong speaks on parenting sons, but his principles apply to parenting children of any age, or relationships in general.

SuperBook Bible App – Designed for kids K-6th grade. Free and available for iPad, iPhone, Android, Kindle. Includes Bible-rich games, questions/ answers common to kids, profiles of people, places and artifacts of the Bible, daily devotionals, and more. A good springboard for conversations between parents and children!

My First Bible – by Kenneth Taylor. A great first Bible to start reading with your child as soon as they can sit up in your lap!

The Jesus Storybook Bible – by Sally Lloyd Jones. (for about 4-8yr olds, though older kids seem to enjoy it too!)  Beautifully written and illustrated, each story points to Jesus as our Rescuer.

The Action Bible – This Bible, graphic novel style, appeals to older elementary kids. It’s 215 narratives are in chronological order, which teaches the Bible’s historical flow.

Our Purpose for Children’s Ministry is to:

Make Disciples Who Make Disciples: In Christ, In Community and On Mission.

We Are Disciples.  Our Children’s Ministry consists of Disciples (adult and youth workers who have growing relationships with Jesus) who make Disciples (children with whom we share God’s Word and love).

And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.  2 Corinthians 3:18

We are in Christ.  Personal relationships with Jesus are taught and nurtured with all age groups.

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to breaking of bread and the prayers. Acts 2:42

We are in Community.  Children are guided in worshipping Jesus and learn and applying His Word in Sunday morning classes.

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to breaking of bread and the prayers. Acts 2:42

We are on Mission.  Kids are encouraged to…

  • Pray for and share the gospel of Jesus in their relationships with friends and family.
  • Invite others to Northside Events.
  • Participate in  offering projects that share Jesus and meet needs outside of our community.

For the Son of Man [Jesus] came to seek and to save the lost. Luke 19:10
